The Bahama Ruritans already serve the local community in many ways. Still, we are always interested in not just creating our own initiatives, but partner with other organizations in worthy causes benefiting local. We invite you to join us and really get involved with your community. If this is important to you, Ruritan is a great avenue.
Fruit Baskets
The Bahama Ruritans deliver fruit baskets every year near Christmas to 20 - 30 community members who have trouble traveling.
Community Events
We put on many events throughout the year to help raise awareness, provide community service, and promote fellowship.
Town Flags and Reindeer
Bahama Ruritan members put up US flags and Christmas reindeer at appropriate times throughout the year. These help create a seasonal atmosphere in Bahama.
Building Rental
The Bahama Ruritan Club serves many as a great event space. Birthday parties, meetings, anniversaries, and receptions have all used the facility. All non-profit events are welcome.
Scholarship
Every year we award a deserving young adult the Lewis Roberts Scholarship to help with college. If you would like to nominate someone, contact us at Bahamaruritan@gmail.com.
Citizenship
Because we believe in serving the community, we recognize a local citizen every year with the Citizen of the Year Award.
Environment
Our environment committee selects projects within our local community to beautify or elevate the environment.
The Food Pantry
We help support the Fish and Loaves Food Pantry through service and contributions.
The Bahama Ruritans support the local Boy Scouts Troop. We often partner with them in service as well.
